  • Mar.27.2018: Tory MP Bob Blackman attacked for anti‑Muslim Facebook post. A Conservative MP has been accused of giving a platform to bigots by sharing a story from an anti-Muslim website on his Facebook page. Bob Blackman shared a story titled "Muslim Somali sex gang say raping white British children 'part of their culture'" late on Sunday night but had deleted it by yesterday morning. He has apologised for his “error” in posting the piece from the anti-Muslim website Hardcore News USA. Mr Blackman has previously been accused of condoning extremism after retweeting a message on Twitter by Tommy Robinson, the far-right leader, and hosting Tapan Ghosh, an Indian Hindu nationalist, in parliament. • Jan.12.2016: Tories vote down law requiring landlords make their homes fit for human habitation. Labour MP Teresa Pearce's amendment to the Housing and Planning Bill 2016, which would place a duty on landlords to ensure that their properties are fit for habitation when let and remain fit during the course of the tenancy, was defeated by 312 votes to 219. Marcus Jones said the govt believed that homes should be fit for human habitation, but did not want to pass a new law that would explicitly require it. Other ministers claimed the proposal would impose "unnecessary regulation" on landlords, and that it would push up rents. Bob Blackman, himself a landlord, was one of those who voted "No".
