WikiCorporates:Contact/Getting involved

From WikiCorporates

Template:Wikipolitiks:Contact/tabs WikiPolitiks is intended to be a collaborative project which will welcome new contributors, once we get the final structure in place and some essential tidying up done.

We use the free and open-source MediaWiki engine, used by WikipediaWikipedia-W.svg and thousands of others. Although many of these websites are open access (meaning anyone can edit them), WikiPolitiks is is a "closed" wiki. This is primarily to prevent acts of online vandalism, and to maintain some level of editorial control, which is why registration is required to contribute.

Submit an Article

Send an email to the Ballotpedia Editor account with your area of expertise/interest and how you would like to contribute to the Encyclopedia of American politics. We’re open to cool ideas and love people who are hungry for ways to help!

First you need to register as a User by emailing melissa.jones AT powerbase.info. Tell us a bit about who you are, what your background is, and what you want to write about. You don't need any special credentials but Powerbase editors need to establish that you are approaching the project in a spirit of goodwill. If Powerbase editors approve you as a User, you will be sent a username and password by email.

Write your article for Powerbase in Word or similar. Please ensure that your article meets our requirements for avoiding libel before submitting it to Powerbase.

If you code your references correctly, they will automatically number themselves in order and appear at the foot of the article.

Go to http://www.powerbase.info and log in using the user name and password that you have been sent via email.

In the left hand side menu Navigation, click on Article Submission. Scroll down until you find the article submission box for the portal to which you want to contribute an article. Each portal has two boxes: Box 1 for a person and Box 2 for an organisation.

Please do not submit "any libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive or otherwise illegal material (as with copyrighted material for which you have no valid claim of fair use). Please use respectful language that does not abuse or discriminate on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc."ref Violators may be banned.
