Toyota is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota, Japan. It is one of the core companies in the Toyota Group of Companies (similar to the Mitsubishi Group of Companies).
The company is a global market leader in sales of hybrid electric vehicles, as well as hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Sales geographically: Japan: 31.6%; Asia: 15.3%; North America: 35.2%; Europe: 10%; and other: 7.9%. Net sales break down as follows:

  • 89.7%: Vehicle sales: 8,964 units sold in 2017/18 (Toyota, Lexus, Hino and Daihatsu brands);
  • 6.7%: Financial services: mostly vehicle purchase financing;
  • 3.6%: Other.
