Parliament (Legislature)The United Kingdom Parliament is the highest legislative body of the United Kingdom and British overseas territories. It alone has legislative supremacy and thus ultimate power over all other political bodies. Goverment (Executive)The Government is composed of Members of Parliament, each of whom is chosen by the people voting in a general election every five years. The Leader of the winning party bcomes the Prime Minister, who then chooses the members of the Cabinet. Together, the Cabinet members decide the Government's policies. The Courts (Judiciary)The United Kingdom doesn't have a single unified legal system. England and Wales has one, Scotland another, and Northern Ireland yet another – but there are exceptions. England
