PLUS is a supermarket chain of the Sperwer Group that is affiliated with the Superunie purchasing center. PLUS has 260 branches in the Netherlands. PLUS has its own brand that also has a more luxurious variant. In addition, the chain has a line with so-called regional products. In 2015, consumer sales amounted to more than 2.2 billion euros. ref

Spar

In the Netherlands, Spar is 45% of Sperwer Group and 45% of Sligro Food Group, the remaining 10% of the shares are owned by the independent Spar entrepreneurs. Spar is an international chain of supermarkets, founded in 1932 in Zegwaart by Adriaan van Well. Spar has offices in 42 countries and combined sales of €33bn (2015) through more than 12,000 affiliated stores. Spar is one of the larger supermarket chains in the world.   • 2006: After the demise of Edah and Konmar, Sperwer and Sligro Food Group took over the Edah supermarkets from Laurus. The Edah supermarkets that Sperwer had bought (~80) were converted into the PLUS format.
