PinkNews today obtained evidence, sent by an anonymous "JaredLeaks", that appear to suggest Mr O’Mara made a string of homophobic comments on an internet forum. In an argument with several other users of the message board, a user known as ‘gingerjared’ derided gay people as “fudge packers” and “poofters”.

    • 2017.10.24: I’ve heard some Sheffield Tories have known for a while, back since when he was running for the council ages ago. But as a local council candidate (in a seat he lost) he wasn’t really prominent enough to take down with this knowledge. Apparently when he became the Labour candidate the local Tories passed this information up to Head Office who did a bit more fact finding. Looks like they sat on the story during the election as revealing it would have only helped Nick Clegg. They’ve played it fairly well. Let O’Mara get a bit of profile and release it now (via Guido) after Theresa has got a good bit of press as Brexit negotiations have moved a little bit forward.
