  • Jun.09.2018: Flint and Greene lead honours list Douglas Flint, the former chairman of HSBC, has been appointed a knight in the Queen’s birthday honours, for services to the finance industry. Sir Douglas, who retired in Sept.2017, had to steer HSBC through torrid times, including revelations about tax evasion by wealthy clients and findings in the US that the bank had helped drug dealers to launder money, but he also won respect for his record at HSBC and his views on regulation and accountancy, which have contributed to post-crisis reforms.
